Tripod Attack!

This painting was obviously inspired by pulp novel covers. After re-reading War of the Worlds and pouring over countless interpretations, this is the tripod design that I feel not only fits Wells' description, but also meets our subconscious expectations. Unlike the updated George Pal and Spielberg designs, these feel almost like something out of a childhood dream... somewhat caricatured, but all the more frightening because of it... like a killer clown.

H.G. Wells Crosses No-Man's Land

The Project has gone off in a different direction since the last post. Or maybe turned into two projects. Either way, this painting represents the opening scene as it currently stands: H.G. Wells crossing a WWI landscape in search of his old associate, Professor Wendijee. But he is not alone.
